Auditing of other activities plays an essential and useful role in the conduct of successful operations. These audits serve to examine and evaluate financial, administrative, and operational activities of the organization, supplying management personnel at all levels with information to assist in their control of the assets and operations and their attainment of objectives for which they are responsible.
Audits are conducted to ensure that the activity is operated in compliance with MCPS policies, regulations, and procedures, and to review processes for continuous improvement. An audit does not review every transaction or aspect of an activity but seeks to provide reasonable assurance that there is compliance with MCPS policies, regulations, and procedures, and that any significant errors or omissions in the records are detected.
